Thank you from Lucy and The Orpheus Centre
We love sharing good news here on the Meters Music news page, so here’s something that we hope will perk-up your Tuesday afternoon.
We had the pleasure of meeting Lucy last week at BBC Music Introducing Live. Lucy approached the Meters Music booth and we asked if there was anything she wanted to try out. We were very pleased to hear that Lucy’s favourite song was ‘Learn to Fly’ by the Foo Fighters.
Lucy lives in an assisted living apartment and we loved hearing about the work of The Orpheus Centre, a charity that aims to equip young disabled people with the skills and confidence they need in order to live independent and fulfilling lives. The Orpheus Centre also has a special focus on music and performing arts.
Lucy listened to ‘Learn to Fly’ on a pair of Meters OV-1Bs (on repeat) for around 30 mins and we could feel emotion that Lucy felt through her love of music. This brought a tear to our eye.
We gave Lucy’s support worker a pair of Rose Gold OV-1Bs to give to Lucy later that day as a gift from us, from one music lover to another.
We received a little email from Nikki at Orpheus that we’d love to share with you.
“Lucy is happily using the headphones that you gave her and enjoying her music around her flat. It was very nice of you and made her day (and mine) as it’s not very often that people do things out of the goodness of their hearts. I’m sure Lucy will put the headphones to good use!”
